Very similar to C. cilicium Boiss. & Heldr., but tuber usually larger, 3-6 cm diam., with a corky, lightly fissured surface. Petiole generally arising directly from tuber, and not geniculate at base as is usual in C. cilicium. Lamina commonly somewhat toothed and often with pink or reddish marbling above, especially when young. Corolla pale pink with darker basal blotches, lobes c. 1,8-2 cm, densely glandular-papillose internally with an irregularly denticulate-erose apex. Fruiting pedicels coiling from apex. Fl. 9-11. Quercus macchie, Pinus brutia forest, on limestone, metamorphic and granitic rocks, 500-1000 m.
Endemic, allied to the allopatric C. cilicium Hoiss. & Heldr. E. Medit. element.
