Plants 30-50 cm. Lower leaves deeply pinnatisect , 10-20 cm, elliptic-oblanceolate in outline, segments 6-10-paired, 1,5-3 x 0,5-1 cm, ovate-lanceolate, coarsely serrate-dentate, pubescent with long fine hairs on both surfaces but more densely so beneath; upper smaller, less deeply divided. Capitula generally 10-16 in ± dense corymbs. Involucre 6-8 mm broad; phyllaries pubescent, inner 5-6 x 1 mm with rounded, scarious apices almost 2 x as broad as basal parts. Ray flowers 10-15; ligules white, 7-10 x 3-4mm. Disc flowers 2rom. Achenes 2,5 mm, brownish, 5-ribbed; corona irregularly toothed, 0,5 mm. FI. 6-8. Open woodland and scrub, especially in limestone areas, 400-2000 m.
