Softly white-woolly branching annual. Stems 25-50 cm high, ascending, slightly striate. Basal and lower cauline leaves 4-6-pinnate, leaflets sessile, 2-pinnate, lobes serrate; upper cauline leaves 3-4-pinnate, leaflets deeply lobed. Umbels terminal and lateral, 3-8-rayed, rays nearly equal, slender, very slightly scabrous. Bracts and bracteoles absent or 1-2 rudimentary. Flowers white, 6-12 per umbellule. Mericarps dimorphic; the peripheral ones in the umbellules compressed, elliptic, 12-14 x 10-12 mm, with a thin wing and slightly moniliform thickened margins; the inner ones hemispherical, c. 7 x 5 mm, unicarpellate at maturity. Mericarps bluish-grey in colour, abaxial face with small vesicular papillae. Dorsal vittae 4, commissural 2. Fl. 5. Rocky hillsides and gravelly calcareous slopes, s.l.-1000 m.
