Perennial herb with a woody rootstock. Stems procumbent ascending , c 15 cm, densely villous-glandular with capitate, glandular hairs and sessile glands. Leaves pinnate, with an elliptic terminal segment, 1-1.5 x 0.6-1 cm, and 2 pairs of small lateral segments, rugulose, finely crenulate, densely villous-glandular;  petiole 0.5-2 cm. Inflorescence few-flowered. Verticillasters 1-2-flowered. Bracts ovate-elliptic, c. 10-14 x 5-7 mm; bracteoles present. Pedicels c. 5 mm, ± erect to erecto-patent. Calyx tubular, 18-20 mm in fruit, purplish tinted, densely villous-pilose-glandular; upper lip very shortly tridentate, ± truncate, ± equal to lower. Corolla c. 28 mm; tube straight, c. 18 mm, indistinctly annulate; upper lip ± straight. Stamens A. Nutlets ± spherical, 4 x 3.5 mm. Fl. 8. Calcareous rocks, 500-1300 m.
