Glaucous perennial, suffrutescent below. Stems ascending, glabrous, up to 50 cm. Leaves sagittate-hastate, waisted, panduriform. Flowers unisexual. Inner perianth segments of the female flowers enlarging in fruit, broadly cordateorbicular, 4-6 mm in diameter, larger than the nut, membranous, etuberculate. Outer perianth segments adpressed to inner. Nut yellowish. Fl. 6-8. Slopes, screes, hillsides, fields, 300-2200 m.
