Bulb ovoid to globose, 4.5–10.0 × 4.5–13.0 cm, without bulbils, inner tunic creamy-brown, outer tunic brown. Leaves 8–13, 20–61 × 0.5–2.8 cm, linear, slightly canaliculate, acute-cucullated, margins slightly scabrid, longer than the scape. Scape 1, 30–55 cm . Inflorescence cylindrical, 90–250 flowers, 20.0–53.5 × 6–8 cm. Bracteoles linear, ca. 0.5 mm. Pedicels of fertile flowers horizontally patent, 1.6–3.5 cm. Pedicels of sterile flowers erecto-patent to recurved, 0.6–2.2 cm. Pedicels of capsule ascending, 2.2–4.0 cm. Fertile flowers 55–180, narrowly oblong-conical, 8–11 mm, base violaceous upper cream in bud, creamy yellow to ivory at maturity, upper part of tube shouldered. Lobes blackish, 1.0–1.5 mm, ovate, strongly recurved. Stamens inserted at the upper part of the tube. Sterile flowers 40–80, cylindrical-conical, 1–9 mm, violaceous. Capsule 7–11 × 8–11 mm, broadly ovate to orbicular, base deeply cordate, upper part ovate.
