Bulb spherical to ovoid. c. 2 x 1.1 cm. Sheath 2-2.2 x 0.4-0.5 cm. Leaves supervolute in vernation; linear to very narrowly oblanceolate, at flowering c. 2.5x 0.5  cm, after flowering developing to  12-22.8 x 0.5-1.2 cm, and becoming broader in upper third. usually erect at maturity; glaucous with an oily sheen, surfaces concolorous: adaxial surface smooth. abaxial surface distinctly sulcate; midrib conspicuous; margins flat; apex obtuse to acute, cucullate, Scape c. 5.5 cm long, glaucous. Flower smelling of urine. Outer perianth segments narrowly obovate, 1.5-1.7 x 0.6-0.8 cm, slightly unguiculate. Inner perianth segments obovate to cuneate, 0.7--0.8 x 0.4-0.5 cm. emarginate; each segment with a variable, narrow, inverted V-shaped mark on abaxial surface above apical notch, and often with a faint yellowish patch near base of each segment; adaxial surface with a mark extending to base of each segment. Anthers tapering to a short apiculum. Capsule spherical to ellipsoid, c. 1 cm in diameter. Seeds not seen. FI. 2-3. In mixed woodland, mainly Picea orientalis and Fagus orientalis, but also with Acer campestre subsp. leiocarpum; Corylus avelluna,Sambucus edulus, S. nigra, and Sorbus torminalis; on volcanic soilsc.1550m.

Endemic. Euxine element.
