Perennial, 20-100 cm, simple or branched, adpressed white-tomentose, eglandular, or greenish, glabrescent, often with microglands. Cauline leaves 4-8- paired, internodes 3-10 cm, middle linear to lanceolate, 1-8 x 0.3-2 cm, mucronate, acute or acuminate, finely serrate-denticulate or entire. Verticillasters 2-15, 6-flowered, 2-9 cm distant. Middle bracts oblong-lanceolate to orbicular and reniform, 6-20 x 2-13 mm, mucronate or acuminate. Calyx 5.5-9 mm, ± densely hairy, sometimes with interspersed glands, teeth 1.5-3.5 mm, with hairy or glabrous tip. Corolla yellow or purple-violet, 10-13 mm, hairy and with brown striae inside. Fl. 5-9.
