Height 5-20 cm. Stems terete, longitudinally striate, woolly with dense indumentumof long spreading hairs. Leaves with dense spreading hairs, linear, cauline 1,5-2x 0,15-0,2 cm, pinnatisect, segments densely. imbricate, 3-partite; lobes± circular, denticulate. Capitula 1-6, corymbs, 1,5-2,5 cm broad, peduncles 3-16 mm. Involucre ovoid to subglobose, 5-6 x3,5-4 mm. Phyllaries broadly ovate to orbicular, obtuse, densely spreading-woolly, sometimes glabrescent, with broad pellucid margins. Ligules 4-6, golden yellow, 2-2'5 mm; disc flowers 15-35. Fl. 5-7. Steppe, chalk and gypsum slopes, Artemisia steppe, 670-800 m.
Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Closely related to A. phrygia.
