Sin: Capparis ovata
Differs from C. spinosa L. in the elliptic or obovate leaves, often more or less pubescent and usually with a mucro, and in the strongly zygomorphic flowers . Three varieties are recognisable in Turkey:
1. Stipules strong, recurved
  2. Stems white; all parts canescent, the gynophore hairy at base; leaves 15-30 x 10-20 mm var. palaestina 
  2. Stems green or purplish; at most the leaves pubescent, the gynophore glabrous; leaves 20-35 x 10-22 mm var. canescens
1. Stipules straight, horizontal or slightly upcurved, often weak var. herbacea
