Sin: A.fruticosum Ssp macrostachyum
Shrubby perennial, stems erect or procumbent, up to 1 m, often glaucous. Cymes completely immersed in, and connate with, the fertile segments, not reaching the upper edge of the segment , falling to leave a tripartite hollow . Seeds greenish-brown or greyish, testa thin, membranous, covered with conical hairs. FI. 8. Coastal salt flats and inland salt-marshes, s.l.-1100 m.
