Bulb globose or depressed-globose,1.5-2.5 cm diam., bearing bulblets; outer tunics membranous. Stem 15-30 cm, thick. Leaves 3,2 mm broad, hollow, semiterete, canaliculate. Spathe persistent, 2-3-valved, ovate, very short, deflexed. Umbel fastigiate-ovoid, 2-4.5 cm diam. Pedicels very unequal, outer very short, inner at least 2-3 x flowers. Perianth ovoid-campanulate or hemispherical; segments 3-5 mm, purple and-white, light purple margined, ovate-obtuse. Filaments exserted at tip; cusps of inner filaments subequal, nearly 1/2 x basal lamina. Capsule depressed-globose, c. 2 mm. Fl. 4-6. Scrub, dry stony slopes, fields, 150-600 m.
