Bulbous perennial, bulb ovoid, 2–2.5 × 2–3 cm diameter; outer tunics blackish, no bulblets; inner tunics membranous, whitish. Stem 27–45 cm long, straight or slightly slanting. Leaves 4–6, semiterete, fistulouse, canaliculate, scabrid, the uppermost leaf is always on the 3/4–4/5 of the stem and very short 3–5 mm long, almost vestigial, the other leaves close together on the lower stem, 1–1.5 mm diameter; leaf sheathing up to 4/5 of stem, scabrid, ribbed. Spathe persistent with two unequal valves, ovate, shorter than umbel, long valve 7 × 5–5.5 mm diameter, short valve 7 × 3–4 mm diameter; umbel semi-spherical, 2–4 cm diameter, with 30 to 50 flowers, sparse. Pedicels, 10–25 mm long, not equal, glabrous, bracteolate. Perigon campanulate, 4–4.5 × 3.5–5 mm diameter, tepals pale yellow, midrib green or dark yellow; outer tepals 3.5–4 × 1.3–1.5 mm, oblong-elliptic, obtuse, curved inward; inner tepals 3.5–4 × 1.1–1.4 mm, oblong or oblong-ovate, obtuse, curved inward. Filaments white, 3–3.5 mm long, shorter than tepals, inner filaments widened for 1/3 of base and with a fleshy rounded tooth on both sides, outer filament simple; anthers yellow, elliptical, 1 × 0.7–0.8 mm. Style 1 mm long. Ovary sessile, globose, oblong-globose, scabrid, with distinct nectariferous pores, ovules 2 per loculus. 1.5–1.8 × 1.5–2 mm wide. Capsule 4 × 5–5.5 mm wide, obovoid, verrucose; valves emarginate, 4 × 5 mm wide; seed 3.2–3.5 × 2.5–3 mm, black.
