Bulb subglobose, 1-1.5 cm diam.; outer tunics greyish. Leaves and base of stem purple. Stem 15-30 cm, terete. Leaves 1-2, all basal, lanceolate or linear, 8-14 mm broad, glabrous. Spathe 2-3-lobed, persistent; lobes nearly 1 cm, triangular, acute, shorter than pedicels. Umbel hemispherical, 3-4 cm diam., many-flowered. Pedicels 12-16 mm. Perianth stellate; segments white with green midvein, lanceolate, 13-16 mm, long-acuminate. Filaments to 4 mm, simple, 1/4 x perianth segments. Anthers purple. Ovary blackish-purple or dark purple. Capsule 5 mm. Fl. 4. Dry slopes and scrub, c. 800 m.
