Bulb ovoid, 1 cm diam.; outer tunics blackish, papyraceous. Stem 10-30 cm. Leaves 2, semicylindrical, 1 mm broad, striate, smooth or scabrid on margin, longer than stem. Spathe 1.5-2 x as long as umbel. Umbel fastigiate-hemispherical, 1.5-3 cm diam., ± few-flowered. Pedicels subequal, somewhat shorter than or 2 x as long as perianth. Perianth narrowly campanulate; segments mostly deep rose with a purple midvein, shining, linear-oblong, 7-8 mm, subobtuse, with ± reflexed apiculi. Filaments included, at least 3/4 as long as perianth segments. Capsule c. 5 mm. Fl. 7-9. Alpine meadows,  steppe, steep stony. slopes, 1700-2200 m.
