Bulb ovoid, 1-2 cm diam.; outer tunics brownish or greyish. Stem 30-100 cm. Leaves 3-4, 2-20 mm broad, flat, smooth, withering during anthesis. Spathe with 4-16 cm beak, soon caducous. Umbel hemispherical or globose, 2-8 cm diam., lax or extremely dense. Pedicels slender, unequal, 4-5 x perianth, with or without bracteoles at base. Perianth shortly campanulate; segments pink, pale dirty mauve, lilac-pink or rarely white, 2.5-3.5 mm, smooth, oblong, obtuse. Filaments glabrous; median cusp of inner filaments exserted; lateral cusps setaceous, mostly contorted, 2-2.5 x perianth. Capsule globose, c. 2.5 mm.
