Bulb ovoid or oblong-conical, c. 1 cm diam.; outer tunics separating into fibres, reticulate at apex. Stem 10-30 cm. Leaves 3-6, filiform, 0.5 mm broad. Valves of spathe linear from a broader basel patent, shorter than pedicels, persistent. Umbel fastigiate, 1.5-2 cm diam., few-flowered. Pedicels 1-1.5 cm, almost equal. Perianth campanulate, cylindrical; segments pink or white with darker midvein, lanceolate, 6-7 mm, acute. Stamens included. Capsule3 mm. 2n = 16. Fl. 9. Rocks and dry slopes, c. 400-600 m.
