Bulb ovoid, 1-1.5 cm diam.; outer tunics coriaceous, inner membranous, transparent. Stem 10-25 cm. Leaves 3-5, narrowly linear to filiform, 1-2 mm broad, fistulose, sheathing lower 1/4 of stem, usually shorter than stem. Spathe shorter than umbel, beak soon caducous. Umbel hemispherical, 2-4 cm diam., many-flowered, dense. Pedicels 0.5-1 cm, subequal. Perianth campanulate; segments pink with darker midvein, 3-4 mm, oblong or more often oblong-lanceolate, acute or subobtuse. Stamens included; inner filaments triangular, 1.5-2 x as broad at base as outer. Anthers yellow. Capsule 3 mm. Fl. 8. Artemisia steppe, c. 1680 m.
