Bulbs ovoid, not more than 1 cm diam., often growing in tufts; outer tunics membranous, thin, blackish. Stem 30-75 cm, slender. Leaves narrowly linear or filiform, c. 1 mm broad, withering during anthesis. Valves of spathe inflated at base, attenuate into a subulate appendage, longer than umbel. Umbel 2-4 cm diam. Pedicels capillary, flexuous. Perianth oblong-campanulate; segments pink with a purple midvein, oblong, 3 mm, obscurely carinate, rounded at tip. Filaments longer than perianth segments, lanceolate. Anthers yellow. Ovary and style purple.· Capsule globose-depressed, longer than perianth. Fl. 5. Scrub, dry slopes, rocky places, 150-2000 m.
