Stout erect perennial; stems up to 3 m, terete, smooth: Basal leaves 2-pinnate, up to 120 cm long; ultimate segments 4-25 cm, lobed, subsessile to decurrent, lobes oblong-elliptic, crenate-serrate, stellate-hairy beneath and on the petiole. Umbels 9-25-rayed; umbellules 12-20-flowered; bracts and bracteoles few, linear to setaceous. Flowers yellow. Mericarps 5-7 x 3-4 mm, elliptic, ± glabrous; margin thickened, c. 1 mm wide. FI. 6. Riverside, wet meadows.
