Erect glabrous perennial with a thick rootstock branched from near the base; stems 30-40 cm, striate. Basal leaves 2-pinnate, 10-30 cm with petiole, ultimate segments entire to 3-sect, lobes lanceolate to broadly elliptic, ± blunt, 6-16 mm. Umbels 5-6-rayed; rays unequal, 2-5 cm in fruit, glabrous; bracts 1-2, lanceolate; bracteoles 4-6, lanceolate or ovate-lanceolate, deflexed. Flowers sulphur yellow, 10-25 per umbellule. Fruit ± orbicular, 10-12 x 9-10 mm, wing c. 1,5 mm wide; valleculae 1-vittate; commissures 4-vittate. Fl. 8-9. Maritime sands.
