Stem 50-130 cm, stout, glabrous, ridged. Basal leaves 3-ternate; ultimate segments oblong-cuneate, deeply and acutely dentate to cordate-ovate, dentate or shallowly lobed. Upper leaves opposite, ovate-cordate and crenate-dentate to oblong-cordate and sharply dentate. Umbels 12-16-rayed. Mericarps subovoid, c. 3,7 x 3 mm;dorsal ridges obscure. Fl. 4-5. Sea cliffs and rocky places, river beds and fields, s.l.-1000 m.
