Stem erect, 15-40 cm, simple, ± puberulent, especially in upper part. Leaves to 6,5 x 4 cm, rather thin, lower usually broadly ovate with apex obtuse or shortly acute, upper ovate-Ianceolate to lanceolate, usually directed downward in fruit, rounded or subcordate at base, nerves puberulent, finely ciliate; petioles to 1 cm. Cymes 3-6-flowered, ± sessile. Pedicels slender, to 6 mm, puberulent. Calyx lobes lanceolate. Corolla ± dark brown, 0,6-1 cm diam.; lobes oblong, obtuse, c. 2 x as long as calyx lobes. Follicles to 6 cm x 8 mm, glabrous; apex elongated, narrow.
