Rootstock cylindrical. Stems simple, erect, 20-30 cm, shortly hirtellous. Leaves oblong-lanceolate, 5-12.5 x 2-5.5 cm, acute or obtuse, mucronulate, glabrous or puberulent, auricles as long as broad, obtuse, scarcely diverging; petiole 5-10 mm. Peduncles longer than petioles. Perianth 4-6 cm; utricle 8-17 x 7-13 mm, ovate-oblong; tube U-curved, c. 5 mm broad at base, gradually dilated to 7-11 mm above, glabrous to glabrescent outside, greenish; limb 1.5-3.5 x 1.5-3.5 cm, broadly ovate, acuminate, inside yellowish with pinkish and brownish markings and hirsute, lower rim up to 1 cm broad. Ovary crisply 'pubescent, Capsule unknown. Fl. 4-6. Cornfields, open scrub and limestone slopes, 330-1900 m.
Endemic to Cilician Taurus. E. Medit. element. Allied to the Irano-Turanian A. bottae, and to the S.W. Anatolian A. poluninii.
