Bulb ovoid, 1.5-2 x 0.8-1.5 cm; tunic dark brown or fuscous. Leaves generally 2, dark green or tinged bronze, often strongly arcuate-recurved, 7-20 x 0.3-0.8 cm. Scapes mostly solitary, 8-14 em, 1-2-flowered. Pedicels erect or erecto-patent, 2-3 em, ebracteate or almost so. Flowers erect. Perianth lavender-blue, with a paler central zone; segments stellately patent, oblong-lanceolate, 12-16 x 3-8 mm, tube 2.54 x 2-3 mm. Filaments alternately 2.5 and 3 mm. Anthers c. 3 x 0.8 mm. 2n = 18. Fl. 5-6. Open mountainsides, 1600-2000 m.
