Bulb 1-1.25 cm diam., sometimes producing offsets. Leaves 3-5, narrowly linear, 7-20 cm x 0.8-1.5 mm, canaliculate, subacute, synanthous in autumn. Scape 12-23 cm. Raceme very lax, 1-3 x 1-1.5 cm, only 7-l2-flowered. Pedicels of fertile flowers ascending, slender, 2-3 mm, as long as flowers or shorter, elongating to 4.5 mm in fruit. Fertile flowers globose to obovoid, 3-5 x 2-3 mm, slightly constricted, pale to sky blue; lobes c. 1 mm, pale blue or whitish, with a median blue fascia, slightly recurved. Stamens biseriate, attached at and above middle of tube. Sterile flowers few and minute, or absent. Capsule suborbicular, 5-7 x 4-6 mm, emarginate. ,Fl. 8-11 Stony macchie, rocky limestone slopes, olive groves, orchards, near the coast, s.I. -900 m.
