Bulb 5–10 mm in diameter, with bulblets; outer tunics dark reddish-brown, inner cream, membranous. Leaves 4–5, patent or erect, linear-lanceolate, 25–60x1–3 mm, canaliculate, without a median line, upper surface glaucous. Scape 30–40 mm, as long as leaves or longer, reddish. Raceme ±ovoid, dense, 10–15 x10–12 mm, 8–12-flowered. Fertile flowers 6–8, tubular-urceolate, 4–5x2–3 mm, more or less constricted distally, white , lobes recurved, up to 1 mm; pedicels recurved, 1 mm in flower, 5–6 mm in fruit. Stamens subbiseriate, attached in lower one-quarter of tube. Sterile flowers 2–4, 1–2 x0.5–1 mm, white or rarely sky blue, tubular-urceolate, pedicels erect, small than 1 mm. Capsule 5–6 mm wide, cordate to orbicular. Seeds 1–1.5 mm in diameter, black. Flowering in May.
