Scape to 40 cm or more, erect. Leaves closely overlapping at base, shorter than scape, 20-30 mm broad, acute, glaucous, conspicuously ciliate, without a white line on upper surface. Raceme cylindrical, many-flowered, dense while flowering, laxer in fruit. Perianth segments 8-11 mm, white inside and out. Ovary purplish-black. Fruiting pedicels ascending, rigid, 20-40 mm. Capsule broadly ovoid, brownish, slightly winged. Fl. 6. Fallow fields, 350-1350 m.
