Height 10-40 cm. Stems terete, obtuse-angled, woolly with dense indumentum of long spreading hairs. Leaves with dense spreading hairs, linear, median cauline 1,5-4 x 0,15-0,3 cm, pinnatisect, segments densely imbricate, 1-1.5mm, 3-lobed, lobes broadly ovate to oblong, denticulate. Capitula 8-40, corymbs 2-8 cm broad, peduncles absent or up to 5 mm. Involucre ovoid-oblong, 5.5-6 x 3-4 mm. Phyllaries ovate to oblong and lanceolate, obtuse, densely spreading woolly, with greenish midrib and broad pellucid margins. Ligules 2-4, golden yellow , 2-3 mm; disc flowers 10-25. Fl. 5-7. Steppes, limestone slopes, Quercetum, 700-1500 m.
Endemic. Ir.-Tur. element. Closely allied to A. gypsicola.
