Annual herb usually with solitary stems 5-30 cm. Leaves linear-oblong, entire, sinuate-dentate or lobed. Peduncles glandular-hairy. Phyllaries often purple-tipped, hispid and glandular-hairy. Flowers yellow, outer ones often reddish. Achenes 1-1,25 mm, dark brown with pale ribs. Fl.4-7. Alt. S.l.-250 m.
