Perennial, procumbent to suberect, subscapose or caulescent, densely adpressed or sub adpressed sericeous-lanate througout. Caudex thick, cylindrical. Stem 5-15 cm, simple or sparsely branched, densely leafy, 1-5-headed. Leaves all entire, flat, lanceolate or linear, 3-12 x 0.5-1.5 cm, acute to acuminate, distinctly 3-5-veined, b asal ones shortly petiolate, upper ones sessile. Involucre 12-20 mm, phyllaries all linear-lanceolate, with long spreading sericeo-tomentose indumentum, attenuate into very acute acumen, outer ones ½ x inner. Ligules flavous, concolorous, equalling involucre or slifhtly longer. Achenes glabrous,, cylindrical, longitudinally ribbed, 3 x 0.5 mm. Pappus white, 8 mm, longer rays scabrid above, shorter ones plumose. Fl. 6-7. Quercus scrub, serpentine slopes, 1200-1650 m.
