Perennial with stems 50-100 cm, glabrous or sparsely arachnoid, often more densely so above. Leaves ovate to elliptic, dentate with outer margin of teeth concave, glabrous above, sometimes hairy below; lower petiolate; upper sessile. Capitula radiate, 1,5-2,5 cm broad, numerous in compound corymbs. Phyllaries 5-7 mm, ovate-lanceolate, acuminate, glabrous or sparsely hairy. Calycular bracts 8-10 mm, linear, often exceeding involucre. Ligules 8-12 mm, yellow. Achenes 3-4 mm, glabrous. Pappus 8-9 mm, white. Fl. 6-9. Damp places, 800-1800 m.
