Plant 8-30 cm, greenish, with numerous short 0·1-0·5 mm soft eglandular or glandular hairs and eglandular 1-3 mm spreading, robust setae. Basal leaves lanceolate, acute, 6-12 x 0·7-2 cm; cauline lanceolate to oblong-lanceolate, 2-5 x 0·5-1·5 cm. Cymes 5-15 cm in fruit. Bracts lanceolate to broadly elliptic, 1-4 x 0·5-2 cm. Calyx 6-10 mm in flower, 11-15 mm in fruit. Corolla blue, glabrous outside, 11-15 mm, limb 4-6 mm diam. Nutlets 4-5 mm, densely scrobiculate-reticulate; beak moderately deflexed. Fl. 5-6.Limestone rocks, ruins, Juniperus and Pinus forest, Quercus scrub, wheat-fields, 800-1720 m.
