Hispid-setose, glandular perennial. Stems 25-50 cm, branched above middle. Cauline leaves oblong-lanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 3-10x0.6-3 cm, semiamplexicaul. Calyx 8-12 mm, divided to 1/2-1/3, lobes triangular, acute; fruiting calyx to 18 mm. Corolla dark purple, 12-18 mm, infundibular, limb erecto-patent, 10 mm diam.; scales and throat densely long-hairy; annulus glabrous. Anthers 2-2.5 mm, semi-exserted . Style equalling or longer than calyx. Nutlets transversely ovoid, 2-4 mm, puberulent to glabrous, reticulate-rugose, tuberculate, beak lateral, basal ring thickened, with 18-24 teeth. Fl. 6-8. Rocky slopes, 1800-3100 m.
