Perennial. Stems solitary, much-branched above, 40-60 cm. Stem and leaves densely rigid patent-setose, white tubercles especially prominent on upper leaf surface, otherwise glabrous. Basal leaves not seen; cauline oblong-lanceolate to oblong, to 70 x 30 mm, sessile with wide or tapering base, acute. Inflorescence subcorymbose, cymes rather dense at first, becoming straight, elongate. Bracts with wide base. Pedicels to 3 mm in flower, 6-10 mm in fruit. Calyx 11-12 mm in flower, 15-16 mm in fruit, lobes narrowly linear, densely setose. Corolla yellow, 15-16 mm, subcylindrical, glabrous, lobes short, revolute. Anthers included or sterile tips exserted. Nutlets to 5 mm, ovoid, subacute, pale brown. Fl. 4. Banks, 400-1000 m. .
