Perennial, caespitose or with long branched stock. Stems several, 15-40 cm, simple or branched, setose, shortly hairy. Basal and lower cauline leaves 25-150 x 3-5 mm, linear-oblong to oblong, setose on both surfaces, setae longer on upper surface. Cymes 1. Bracts usually shorter than calyx. Pedicels 0-2 mm. Calyx 8-12 mm in flower, to 15 mm in fruit, lobes linear-Ianceolate, setose. Corolla pale yellow, 20-30 mm, tapering from apex to base, puberulous. Anthers included. Nutlets 2·5-3 mm. Fl. 5-7. Fields, stony sleppe, 950-1700 m.
