Pubescent perennial, 20-60 cm. Leaves linear-oblong or ovate to narrowly ovate or linear-lanceolate,lower petiolate, upper sessile. Flowers c. 9-15. Calyx 7-9 mm, accrescent to 15 mm in fruit, divided to 1/4-1/3, lobes linear-Ianceolate. Corolla white, 12-15 mm; scales linear, equalling or exceeding stamens. Nutlets 2·5-3 mm, constricted at base, areolate, tuberculate. FI. 4-7. Abies forest, shady places, often nr streams, 800-2100 m.
