Perennial with much branched woody rhizome; flowering stems fragile, leafless below, 10-20 cm. Leaves fleshy; lower opposite, ovate-spathulate to orbicular, subpetiolate: upper leaves, alternate, oblong-ovate. Petals pink or lilac, 4-5 x 2-3.5 mm. Filaments free or loosely connate, not dentate, anthers scarcely apiculate. Inflorescence sub-capitate, elongating in fruit. Ovary 1 or 2 locular, 2-ovulate. Fruiting pedicels erect-ascending, 5-7 mm. Siliculae ovate or obovate, 1 or 2-seeded, 7-10x6-8 mm; wings 1.5-2 mm, entire or subentire, sinus 1-1.5 mm, style ± sessile, adnate to wings for 1-1.5 mm, stigma capitate. Seeds not known. Fl. 4-7. Crevices in limestone cliffs and rocks, 600-2950 m.

Endemic; mainly in the Mediterranean territory.
