Erect perennial, up to 60 cm, with many sterile shoots. Cauline and sterile shoot leaves dissimilar in form. Sterile shoot leaves obovate-spathulate, petiolate. Cauline leaves narrowly obovate to oblanceolate. Indumentum concolorous, canescent-silvery. Petals obovate glabrous, entire or subemarginate, 2-2.5 x 0.8-1 mm. Fruits orbicular or obovate, emarginate, glabrous, papillose, 3.5-4.5 x 2-3 mm; valves equally inflated. Styles slender, 0.5-1 mm, glabrous. Seeds narrowly winged. Fl. 5-7. Rocky places, steppe and disturbed ground, s.l.-1380 m.
Crete. Naturalised in Corsica, but native to Anatolia
