Alyssum lepidotum

Cushion-forming woody perennial with stems up to 7 cm. Sterile shoot leaves imbricated, narrowly elliptic, acute. Cauline leaves linear-lanceolate, increasing in size upwards. Raceme simple, congested, few-fruited. Petals broadly spathulate, retuse or bilobed, 6-8 x 3-4 mm, constricted below the limbs, claw margins denticulate. Fruits ovate, emarginate or truncate, 3,5-5 x 3-4,5 mm, with a silvery indumentum of lepidote hairs; valves unequally inflated. Styles 0,5-1 mm, with dense indumentum for ½ their lengths. Fl. 6-7. Limestone scree and mountain steppe, 1200-2300 m.
