Annual with many ascending or rarely prostrate stems. Leaves linear or lanceolate, 8-10 x1-2.5 mm, the lower gradually attenuate, the upper shortly petiolate. Sepals 1.5-2 mm. Petals 1.2-2.4 mm, emarginate. Fruits 3.5-7 x 2-4.5 mm, glabrous, obovate, obtuse. Loculi 4-6-ovulate. Styles 0.1-0-5 mm. Two varieties may be recognised:
1. Plant erect, stems stout; racemes elongate, multibranched, 3-7 cm; leaves 10-25 x 1-2.5 mm var. linifolium
1. Plant reduced, prostrate, stems slender; racemes condensed, rarely branched, 1-3 cm; leaves 5-8 x 0.5-1.3 mm var. teheranicum
