Hispidulous annual. Stems dichotomously branched from base, 10-15 cm. Lower leaves ovate to oblong-spathulate, to 20 x 12 mm, narrowed into petiole, upper oblong-lanceolate, 10-30 x 5-7 mm, obtuse, sessile, entire or obscurely dentate. Flowers terminal, shortly pedicellate, erect. Calyx lobes lanceolate, subacute, 4-7 x 2-3 mm, erect, enlarged after flowering and stellate in fruit, ciliate at margin. Appendages lanceolate, acute, longer than short obconical ovary, ciliate. Corolla turbinate-campanulate, 6-10 mm, divided to ½ into ovate acute lobes, blue-violet, slightly ciliate on middle nerve outside. Style ± exserted. Stigmas 3. Capsule nodding, shortly obconical, irregularly dehiscing. Seeds oblong, 0,9 x 0,3 mm, light brown, shiny. Fl. 4-6. Rocky slopes, scrub, dry grassy and sandy places, 15-1675 m.
