Rhizomatous perennial with usually branched stems 50-80 cm, erect or ascending. Leaves 3-7 x 1-3 cm, ± glaucous, simple; on the main stem ± ovate, acute, the uppermost often incised-dentate; on branches broadly lanceolate, obtuse to acute, entire. Corolla red, pink or white, the tube 7-9 mm; spur 5-7 mm. Rocky places, walls, s.l.-1000 m.
Mediterranean area, Crimea; naturalized elsewhere. It is not certain that the Turkish records refer to wild material.
