Slender, somewhat caespitose, usually glabrous perennial. Rhizome slender, cylindrical, often stoloniferous, giving rise to slender cylindrical roots. Stem simple, erect, slender, base 1 mm or less in diam., 4-10 cm tall. Basal leaves pinnate, 3-lobed, terminal lobes ± orbicular, entire or sometimes repand, c. 3 x as long as the orbicular-ovate lateral lobes; petioles slender, 2-3 x as long as the terminal lobe. Cauline leaves few, simple or pinnate, 1-paired; lobes lanceolate-linear. Inflorescence a lax cyme. Flowers opening a few at a time, pink; corolla tube c. 3,5 mm. Achene glabrous. Fl. 6-8. Shady cliffs and rocks, 1800-2250 m.
