Stems and branches spreading-pilose-tomentose. Leaves narrowly ovate, acuminate, shortly petiolate, pilose-tomentose. Flowers nodding in lax, few-flowered dichasia. Calyx green, widely campanulate, 11-12 mm with 5 obtuse teeth about as long as the tube. Petals deeply bifid, greenish-white, c. 15mm. Berry blackish, ± globose, exserted from the persistent calyx, which, in fruit, has revolute teeth. Fl. 7. Banks, hedges, etc. up to 1400 m.
