Perennial, 4-14 cm, densely pruinose. Leaves 15-22 x 1,5-2,5 mm, spinose, ± squarrose, narrowed from the base to an aristate apex, margins very thick. Long shoot leaves 13-17 x 0,5-1 mm, erect, subspinose. Flowers usually solitary, sometimes in pairs. Bracteoles 6-10, shorter than the calyx tube to longer, narrowly ovate to ovate, long-aristate, margins narrowly membranous. Calyx 16-18 x 3-4 mm, widest in the lower half, teeth 6-8 mm, linear, long-mucronate. Petal limb pink, 5-6 mm, oblong, barbulate, dentate.
