Annual, 2-10 cm, everywhere densely glandular-hirsute, branched throughout. Leaves linear to linear-lanceolate, 10-20 x 1-3 mm, acute to obtuse. Inflorescence dense, capitate, 5-10-flowered. Bracts leaf-like, linear, c. 10 x 1 mm, enwrapping the inflorescence. Pedicels 1-2mm. Calyx tubular, 7-8mm, teeth linear lanceolate, acute. Petals linear, emarginate, 10-12mm, pink. Seeds with flat tubercles. Fl. 5-6. Dry Pinus brutia forests, macchie, river beds, s.l.-1500 m.
