Perennial, glandular-pubescent or glabrous below, whole inflorescence glabrous, stems ascending at base, much branched, 30-120 cm. Leaves linear-lanceolate to ovate, acute to obtuse, 2-10 cm x 5-35 mm, with 3-7 nerves. Inflorescence lax, spreading. Bracts triangular-acuminate, scarious. Pedicels 2-15 mm. Calyx campanulate, 2-2,5 mm, teeth ovate, obtuse. Petals white to pink, oblong, 3-5 mm, obtuse to emarginate. Seeds with flat tubercles. Fl. 6-8. Saline soils, steppe, slopes, cultivated land, 1000-1500 m.
