Annual, glabrous, ± glaucous. Stem 10-55 cm, erect, branched in the upper part, upper internodes ± viscous. Leaves oblanceolate to linear-lanceolate, 10-60 x 2-15 mm, lower leaves obtuse, upper acute to acuminate. Inflorescence lax, dichasial. Bracts triangular to lanceolate-acuminate, scarious. Pedicels capillary, 5-15mm. Calyx broad-campanulate to hemispheric, 2-2,5mm, with ovate, obtuse teeth. Petals white to pale pink, 4-5 mm, oblong, obtuse to shallowly emarginate. Seeds with obtuse tubercles. Fl. 4-6. Steppe, river banks,fallow fields, roadsides, 350-1400 m.
