Prostrate herb, caespitose-compact, woody at base. Internodes very short, 1-2 mm. Leaves 2.5-3 x 1.5 mm, narrowly elliptic, puberulent to glabrescent, carinate and recurved. Stipules 4-5 mm, exceeding leaves and very conspicuous. Glomerules 8-12 mm, terminal, crowded. Bracts 6-7 x 5-6 mm, broadly ovate to suborbicular, concealing the flowers. Flowers 3-3.5 mm, adpressed-puberulent. Sepals equal, oblong, ± acute, slightly exceeding fruit. Fl. 6-8. Rocks.
